1. What is ear wax removal?
Ear wax removal is the process of gently clearing excess wax from the ear canal. At Get the Wax Out, I provide professional, safe techniques to remove wax without discomfort.

2. How do I know if I need ear wax removal?
You may benefit from ear wax removal if you notice symptoms such as reduced hearing, fullness in the ear, itching, ringing, or general discomfort.

3. What methods do you use?
I use two main techniques:
Manual techniques – using small, precise instruments to remove wax carefully.
Micro suction – a gentle vacuum method that allows precise removal of wax, especially if it is impacted.

4. Does it hurt?
Most clients find the procedure comfortable. You may feel slight pressure or mild sensations, but pain is uncommon.

5. How long does a session take?
A typical appointment lasts 10-30 minutes per ear , depending on how much wax needs removing and the condition of the ear canal.

6. Can photographs be taken?
Yes — photographs may be taken before and after the procedure for record keeping, but only with your separate consent. You can decline this without affecting the service.

7. Who is this service for?
This service is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not offered for children.

8. Are there any risks?
When performed professionally, ear wax removal is safe. Some clients may experience temporary sensations such as mild itchiness or changes in hearing immediately after the procedure. If you experience ongoing discomfort, discharge, dizziness, or persistent changes in hearing, contact your GP.

9. Do I need a GP referral?
No referral is needed. You can book a private appointment directly. If an infection or other ear condition is suspected during the procedure, you will be referred to your GP or ENT specialist.

10. Will removing ear wax improve hearing or ringing?
If wax is blocking the ear canal, removing it often improves hearing and may reduce ringing. If symptoms continue after removal, consult a GP for further assessment.
