What to expect 

During your ear wax removal appointment

Before your appointment

• You may be advised to use olive oil or wax-softening drops a few days before your appointment to soften the wax for easier removal. 

• Prior to your appointment, you will be required to complete a consent form, ear history questionnaire, and provide your signed consent.

During your appoinment

• I will carefully check your ear canal to ensure it is safe to proceed with wax  removal.                

• Using microsuction or gentle manual techniques, I will remove excess ear wax safely and comfortable.

• You may hear a soft suction sound or feel slight pressure, but most clients find it comfortable and not painful.

• The procedure usually takes 10-30 minutes per ear, depending on how much wax there is.

After the procedure

• Many people notice immediate  improvement in comfort and hearing. 

• It is normal to feel mild sensitivity, slight crackling, or sense of openness in the ear after the wax is removed. 

• I will provide practical guidance on ear care and hygiene to help prevent wax build-up and keep your ears comfortable.

Important notes

• This service is for ear care only, not medical treatment.

• I DO NOT DIAGNOSE OR TREAT  INFECTIONS and DO NOT PRESCRIBE MEDICATION.

• If any signs of infections or ear disease are identified, you will be referred to your GP or ENT specialist. 

• All procedures follow strict infection control protocols.
