Infection control protocols

At Get the Wax Out, hygiene and safety are a top priority. All services are carried out using strict cleanliness standards to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for every client.

Equipment Hygiene

  • All tools are either single-use disposable or thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each appointment.
  • Disposable items are used wherever possible and safely discarded after use.
  • Reusable equipment is cleaned using appropriate disinfectant wipes before being used again.

Hand Hygiene

  • Hands are cleaned before and after every appointment.
  • Disposable gloves are worn during each procedure and changed between clients.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Appropriate PPE may be used during appointments where necessary.
  • This may include gloves and other protective items to maintain a clean working environment.

Clean Working Environment

  • All equipment is prepared on clean surfaces.
  • Surfaces are cleaned before and after each appointment.
  • A tidy and hygienic setup is maintained.

Client Safety

  • Services are only carried out when it is safe to proceed.
  • If there are any concerns regarding the condition of the ear, the procedure will not be performed and appropriate advice will be given.

Waste Disposal

  • All waste is handled responsibly and disposed of in accordance with local guidelines.
  • Single-use items are sealed and removed after each appointment.

Mobile Service Hygiene

  • All equipment is transported in clean, closed containers or bags to keep items protected during travel.
  • Clean and used items are kept separate at all times.
  • Equipment is handled in a way that maintains hygiene standards throughout the visit.

Home Environment

A suitable environment is required to maintain hygiene and safety standards during appointments.

 Health and Safety Considerations

To help maintain a safe environment for both clients and the practitioner:

  • Appointments will be rescheduled if the practitioner is unwell or experiencing symptoms of a cold, flu, or other contagious illness.
  • Clients are kindly asked to inform in advance if they are feeling unwell, so the appointment can be rearranged.
  • The appointment may be postponed if there is a potential risk to health or safety.
